The annual DP Visual Arts exhibition once again bore witness to the immense creativity and emotional maturity of the artists presenting their work. Every piece offered aspects to engage with through immediate visual impact and in a deeper study of the forms, materials, and compositions used.
The themes explored were varied: seemingly innocent children at play offered a commentary on fraternal authority and how it shaped feminine mobility; choosing to walk towards an unknown future; the constant comfort of family; the inevitability of mortality; motherhood; domestic tensions; thought-provoking images and concepts reflecting many aspects of life.
Alongside, sculpture provided some captivating pieces from architectural constructions exploring shape and light, to metaphorical busts and stories told through shape and texture.
The exhibition showcased not just the road our young artists have travelled to develop skills and technique across different media, but also provided a glimpse of their maturing and imaginative inner life.
