April 23 was International Girls in ICT Day. In the primary, we observed this day by inviting four guest speakers.
Three of the presenters were SIS moms. The fourth was a former member of staff. They all took time from their busy ICT jobs to present to our grade 4 students.
Emelie Garrison shared how her company, Salesforce, helps numerous other companies stay organised and help their customers, Tlhabi Francois talked about her experiences working for Google Education. Gillian Leetch presented her work with Ericsson. And Xinxin Yan spoke of her work with Karolinska and ISO/IEC to help our bodies communicate with technology.
This was a great experience for our students, organised by Primaty School teachers Ellen Larsson and Jeremy Bradshaw.
