In Nepal, at the Shila Devi School, which SIS has supported for over ten years, some children walk two hours each way just to reach their classroom. Mindful of this, and with humility, the SIS Nepal Project organises a sponsored annual Walk for Nepal. What's a few laps of Hummlegården compared with the walk to school in Nepal?
This year, SIS fielded 75 registered walkers/runners. Alongside this, an impressive bake sale added to the fundraising as well as providing a treat following the exertion. The total amount raised, sponsorship and bake sale together, was 17 500 SEK. A very rewarding day for all.
A fabulous spread of cookies and Nepal-produced merchandise added to funds raised.
