| SIS campus |
Recently, we were visited by Klas Frieberg. Klas wanted to see first-hand the murals in Norra Latin, and one in particular: Skolungdomens korum painted in 1901 by renowned Swedish artist Carl Larsson. The reason? Klas is a family descendant of the artist, and a passionate student of his work.
Klas shared some interesting details about the work. To the right of the picture the artist has painted himself into the throng of people. The two younger female figures on the right were both modelled on his grandmother at different ages.
Our whole community admires the heritage character of our buildings, but the insight provided by Klas shows once again just how rich in culture our surroundings are, and how lucky we are to be able to work and study in such a place.
