Physicality and finesse were both on display in an afternoon of House competitions and activities designed to get everyone in high spirits as the holidays fast approach.

A raucous audience in the gym cheered every leap, spring, dive, and lunge as volleyball took centre stage. Those more disposed to creative pursuits could express the spirit of the season in the art rooms, where an abundance of tinsel, glitter, paper, glue, and imagination saw a wide range of cards and decorations emerge.

As ever, chess proved immensely popular, with timing clocks worked overtime in rapid-fire, time-limited games. And our ever resourceful Frostbite Robotics team took the opportunity to sell tasty treats to raise funds for their upcoming competitions.

The table tennis area was an exuberant, if not slightly chaotic, activity station, but the students seemed to have a perfect grip on who was playing who and who was winning the points. In contrast, the dining room hosted deliberative and focused groups, intent on high scores in the student-organised quiz. What is the most watched youtube video…?*

A perfect afternoon of fun, friendship, and bonding – spiced with just a little bit of competitive edge – enjoyed by everyone involved. And at the end of it all, Air House emerged top of the tree!
