Chess at SIS received a major boost when an award was made to allow the purchase of new boards, playing pieces, and timing clocks. The new equipment and an energetic recruitment campaign saw more than 10% of our students quickly drawn to the attractions and intellectual challenges of the game. SIS now boasts a range of representative teams taking part in local and national tournaments.
