From Wednesday, 4th February to Friday, 6th February, SIS will be running our Primary Tech Fest under the theme Artificially Inspired.
This year, the Tech Fest is designed to support students in developing digital literacy, curiosity, and age-appropriate understanding of technology and artificial intelligence, with a strong emphasis on ethical use, responsible decision-making, and sustainability. Over the three days during Library lessons, students will engage in a range of hands-on, creative, and discussion-based experiences that promote problem-solving, computational thinking, and reflection on how technology and AI impact people, learning, and the wider world.
Throughout the week, students will take part in activities such as introductory AI discussions, coding and robotics challenges, creative construction and tinkering tasks, and reflective learning using the Seesaw learning platform. Visual displays across the Primary School will showcase student work linked to the Artificially Inspired theme, alongside staff quotes highlighting how AI is used thoughtfully in professional practice.
In addition, all ICT lessons during the week will include special Tech Fest-themed activities aligned with the focus on the ethical and sustainable use of technology.
This year's emphasis on AI reflects the School's continuing recognition that understanding AI and its impact is critical for today's students.
