The caps worn were angled formally, jauntily, and back to front. The smiles worn were beaming, radiant, and perhaps just a little relieved. Utsping arrived for the class of '25 and they celebrated it to the full.
Our graduates came together for lunch, where they mingled with the teachers and staff who had supported and mentored them through two intense years of the IB Diploma programme. In keeping with tradition, the Upper School Principal, Ms Christine Öman, led the brigade of Grade 10 students waiting tables.
The atmosphere was lively and pleasantly raucous as each graduate's particular idiosyncrasies were recognised in verse by their peers.
Lunch concluded, it was time for the race to meet friends and families assembled outside Norra Latin. As the graduates piled out the front doors, there was a distinct feeling that although this was not the last time they would be in the building, this crossing of the threshold was particularly symbolic. As they climbed into the truck that would take them around the streets of Stockholm, the comic banner declaring 'Chat GPT saved us', hinted at the fast-changing, digital world that awaits them after SIS.
SIS is proud of them for their achievement, excited for their potential as global citizens, and looking forward to hearing of their success in the future.
Congratulations to the classs of 2025!
