School Life |
For the first time since the global Covid pandemic, the whole of Stockholm International School was able to assemble as one body to celebrate together. On a crisp UN Day morning Primary School made the walk from Johannesgatan to Norra Latin, to join with Middle and Upper School students and School staff in a celebration of our multinational, culturally diverse community.
A musical celebration started the proceedings, with Ode to Joy, Worldwide Hello and Make Your Own Kind of Music establishing a global atmosphere. Hey Jude, sung as a finale, with its call to 'make things better' was an apposite choice following Director, Marisa León's remarks that:
As we celebrate today, let us remember that the spirit of the United Nations is not just a distant ideal but a living reality here in our school. It is present in the friendships that form between students of different backgrounds, in the lessons that teach us to see the world from multiple perspectives, and in the efforts we make to contribute positively to society. Our commitment to internationalism and togetherness is not limited to a single day; it is a continuous journey, one that requires us to be open-minded, compassionate, and proactive.
Our happy School community was captured from the air - you can see our fly-past on the youtube channel.
